2026 Recap: More Connected Than Ever

For six days in March, downtown Tucson became one big, walkable festival. Instead of a convention center, TENWEST 2026 unfolded across theaters, bars, restaurants, creative spaces, and historic venues, from the Rialto and Hotel Congress to the Children's Museum and KXCI Studios. More than 1,200 founders, creators, community builders, and the simply curious came to learn, trade ideas, and meet people they wouldn't have met anywhere else.

As one attendee put it: "No drab conference halls. Getting outside to walk around and experience different places was great — even for a local."

By the numbers

  • 1,200+ attendees

  • 60 sessions and experiences

  • 108 speakers

  • 16 downtown venues and businesses

  • 25% of attendees from outside the region

Standout moments

  • Jason Feifer takes the stage. The Entrepreneur magazine editor-in-chief delivered the festival keynote and judged IdeaFunding. "The talk with Jason was great and really leveled up my perception of TENWEST."

  • IdeaFunding goes big. 80 startups applied and 20 made the finals. The competition awarded $33.5K in cash plus $20K in incubation support.

  • The Mega Mixer. 350 people packed the kickoff party to start the week.

  • Connection that attendees created themselves. Attendees organized 18 of their own meetups and sent more than 2,300 messages to each other in the festival app. "Meeting other founders in the community and knowing that I'm not alone in my daily struggles."

  • A festival for everyone. More than 40 Access the Fest and Indigenize TENWEST scholarships, 75+ high school students, and 50+ volunteers helped make this the most connected TENWEST yet.

  • New ways to experience TENWEST. TENWEST EDU, TENWEST Explores, and daily TENWEST Connects gatherings debuted, alongside food-focused experiences at downtown restaurants and a family-friendly food pop-up at the Children's Museum.
