Hello TENWEST Community,
We’re excited to share some significant news about the future of our beloved TENWEST Impact Festival. As we approach a decade of fostering innovation and community in Tucson, we've made a pivotal decision: TENWEST is moving to the spring! Starting in 2025, our festival will no longer take place in the fall and will not take place at all in 2024. This change isn’t just about a new date (March 25-30, 2025); it’s a whole new vision for what TENWEST is becoming.
Over the past ten years, Tucson has grown exponentially. Our city has developed a vibrant array of venues and public spaces that deserve to be showcased. In response, we are reimagining TENWEST to better reflect the dynamism and diversity of our community. The festival will adopt a decentralized model to take full advantage of Tucson’s unique venues and spaces, allowing us to host a broader range of events in terms of size, focus, and audience.
Why spring? We chose the spring season for several strategic reasons. It aligns the festival with the end of the academic year, which opens up fantastic opportunities for engagement with students and faculty from the University of Arizona, Pima Community College and other educational institutions. Additionally, spring helps us avoid the hustle of the holiday season, making it easier for our out-of-town guests to attend.
This shift to spring is part of our celebration of TENWEST’s 10th Anniversary. We want to mark this milestone by stepping boldly into a new era, one that embraces the growth and changes in our community. We're excited to create a festival that not only entertains but also enriches, educates, and inspires.
You can also stay up to date on all things TENWEST in our new monthly WEST Watch. Thank you for being part of our journey so far. I can’t wait to see where we go together next.
Love,
The TENWEST Team
